That which is not created cannot be destroyed. Consciousness is not created by man and hence it cannot be destroyed by death. The body decays upon death and the thinking mind which can only exist with the support of brain activity, dissipates upon death.
Consciousness is eternal. This is the energy which moves on after death to the next rebirth until it achieves liberation through a long process of purification which can only take place with the thinking mind. Hence rebirth is necessary for this to take place. A seeker who embarks on his spiritual journey will soon realise that the purification process is painful but necessary for liberation to take place. Consciousness is made up of “conscience”, “sub-conscious” and the “supreme consciousness”.
Let’s look at each individual make-up. Firstly conscience, we all have this in us whether we know it or not. It is the check and balance system in every human being. It tells you if you have done right or wrong. For those on this path they will have experienced this feeling of pain if they have caused hurt. The closer you are to your goal of liberation, the louder will be the voice of conscience.
Secondly the “sub-conscious” which follows you with every rebirth as it is the memory bank of all your past lives. If you recall in the last blog I mentioned that during sleep the sub-conscious clean up all unwanted thoughts and retains only that which is necessary. It is your “cache memory”, like that of your computer. So the psychologist or phychiatrist who puts you through a hypnotic state is able to prompt you to recall that cache memory in your sub-conscious data bank.
Thirdly the “supreme consciousness”, this is a gift from the Creator to every human being. It is the blueprint to your perfection. It is the drop of water that represents the entire ocean that Masters, Saints and Sages talk about. That one drop of water contains the quality of the entire ocean. In that one drop of divine or supreme consciousness is the entire universal consciousness or Divine or God Consciousness depending on which terminology you are familiar with.
Thus Consciousness is your identity, it is you, but only formless until you take human birth, than a name is given to your form but not to your Consciousness. Consciousness has no sex, no race nor religion. However your Consciousness is recognised as an identity in the spiritual realm as an individual entity, only formless. With each conception, you take along with you this Consciousness and with birth you take on a new “conscious think mind” that grows, matures and develops as you grow physically. The process of purification begins again depending on the choices you make in life. The cycle or wheel of birth and rebirth goes on and on until all karmic debt is paid, until no more desire or attachment is left, until the sub-conscious and the “conscious thinking mind” is rid of all impurities then an only then can the Supreme Consciousness in you shine forth .
An enlightened being operates at the Supreme Consciousness level most of the time. A seeker operates on both levels, the Supreme Consciousness and conscious thinking mind, and swinging from one to the other depending on the pull and the moment in which he is at. Most human beings operate at the mind level – the “conscious think mind”.
You will notice that I stayed away from talking about the “Soul” your “life force” which is the Divine Soul Energy that gives life when you draw your first breath and exit when you exhale your last breath. This is an area for you to ponder and seek the answer to.
May you find the answer to whatever you are seeking on your life’s sojourn.
God Bless.

I do consider all the concepts you have introduced to your post. They’re very convincing and can certainly work. Still, the posts are too brief for novices. May you please lengthen them a little from subsequent time? Thanks for the post.
