I am not going to touch on the subject of Death as to what will happen after death or what is going to happen before we die. What I am going to talk about is, if you think life is a great teacher, then death is a greater teacher. Death tells you that you can be Muslim, Christian or Buddhist or an Atheist or any other religion, the end point is the same. You go back to dust when you die. Whether you are cremated or buried, the end point is the same. You can segregate yourself in life by saying I am a Muslim, Buddhist or Christian, or something else but in death you are one and the same. We are all equalized in death.

Death also tells you that you can accumulate all the material things you want during your lifetime, but you cannot take it with you. If fact the Yogis meditate a lot on death. Even the Buddhist Monks spend time meditating on this, they even go to the cemetery to do this meditation. They realize that death is just a doorstep away. If fact, death gives you life and tells you how long you shall live. People say that “he cheated death” they never say to you that he cheated life. So, it tells you death gives you life. When death comes life is taken away. The end point is something that no one knows when it is going to come, where and how it is going to come. This is something we don’t want to think about because we fear it but there is no need for fear.

Death is the greatest teacher of all. Say for example you are jealous of someone can you bring it with you in death? You can’t. So it tells you that you must make full use of your life because when death comes everything is cancelled. The biggest lesson is to realize that we all treat our loved ones very poorly. We can be very rude to our loved ones. We can be very impatient with our loved ones. Now assuming that you know that your love one is going to die soon, how would your relationship be? I am sure your relationship is going to be more compassionate, more loving, more caring because you don’t want to upset the person.

So why wait? Why wait for that end point to come before you change the way you relate to your loved ones? So the biggest lesson death teaches us is don’t behave in an arrogant manner in your life time. Treat everyone as if the end point is going to come. Another question to ask is, if you know that your end point is coming, would you live your life differently? If you say yes that means you have not been doing the right things. If you say I will not change my life at all, I would not do anything different and that you are happy with the path you have chosen, then you are ready for the end point.

If you say that I must do this and that, I must travel the world, these are all desires. These desires you cannot bring it with you when you die. You must make peace with yourself. You must make sure that you accelerate this process where you find the God within you. Make peace with yourself instead of travelling all over the world which is desire. A lot of people will have a list called the bucket list of what they want to do, they say I have not done this or that, have not gone to Alaska or bungee jump. They want to do all these things, but you can’t take these experiences with you when you go. The experience that you can take with you is the closeness you have with the Divine Self. The peace within yourself is all that you need.

Why do we treat our loved ones badly, because we know that they are there, and we take it for granted that they will be there always. No matter how rude or mean we are to them, we know that they will be there. Why wait for that moment when you are told that that person has only a short time more to live then your entire feeling and attitude change. From the nasty person you are to the most loving person you are to that love one. So don’t wait for that time to come. Change now if that is what you need to do. So if you think life is a big teacher, death is even a bigger teacher. The Buddhist monks mediate on death every day because they know that life is short. They know that they must make full use of this lifetime so that they can reach nirvana. Some yogis also meditate on death because they know that it can happen any time and so they are ready for it. On the spiritual journey, this is what it is. You make this effort to get close to your divine self, so that you don’t waste one more lifetime.

Today I want to talk about a subject that no one ones to talk about as they consider bad luck.
