THE SEED<\/p>\n
You all have been told that God lives in you and that in this journey called life, you have your body, your conscious mind (i.e. Your thinking mind) and your subconscious (your soul) existing as one entity in you.<\/p>\n
Just as the seeds from your parents gave you your physical characteristics, the seed from your Divine Father gave you your spiritual characteristics.<\/p>\n
Your physical body grows without your control. You cannot stop yourself growing or aging but you can assist in the growth process by taking good food, exercise regularly so that you have a good and healthy body.<\/p>\n
However the growth of the spiritual seed that was planted in you and which have been carrying for many lives depends entirely up to you. You assist in its growth 100%. It is within your control how fast or how slow you wish the process to take or for that matter how many lives.<\/p>\n
Let us take some time to learn from nature.<\/p>\n
The seed of a red bean which I bought from a shop must be a few months old from the time it as harvested and packed for sale. Yet if I tell you one day this seed can be a red bean plant. Am I wrong? If I tell you the plant lives in this seed am I wrong?<\/p>\n
No. Because in this seed is the blueprint for all that you can see in the full grown red bean plant. There is the root, leaves, stalk and everything else. However for this humble seed to become a plant certain things have to be done.<\/p>\n
Firstly I have to plant it and in this case on wet cotton. Then I have to water it daily but sparingly. I have to make sure that I do not over water it for it will rot. I have to take care of it by placing it in the sunlight and then in the shade. Too much sunlight will also cause it to wither. Then I have to make sure the birds do not come to eat it. After all that and this will take a few weeks, it will become a plant.<\/p>\n
What can we learn from the above passage in our own spiritual growth?<\/p>\n
Two main lessons can be drawn from the humble red bean seed.<\/p>\n
One since your Divine Father has placed His seed in you, one day you too can become like Him. Am I wrong to say God lives in you? Am I wrong to say that the plant lives in the seed?<\/p>\n
Just as the seed once planted has to be taken care of, you have to take good care of the Divine seed that has been planted in you since you took human birth.<\/p>\n
In this world there are five categories of people:<\/p>\n
Firstly: The person who does not know that he carries the Divine seed in him<\/p>\n
Secondly: The person who knows that the Divine seed is in him but does not know what to do with it.<\/p>\n
Thirdly: The person, who is aware of the Divine seed in him, knows what to do but does nothing.<\/p>\n
Fourthly: The person, who is aware of the Divine seed in him, knows what to do and is doing something about it.<\/p>\n
Fifthly: The person who has taken good care of the Divine seed in him and now enjoys the fruits of his hard work.<\/p>\n
Which category do you belong to? This you have to answer to yourself. The Master and Gurus have said over and over again, we can tell, we can remind eventually it is up to you to take care of the seed yourself. You have to nurture it.<\/p>\n
There is one more lesson that we can learn from this humble seed. This other lesson is for you to think and to discuss. To refresh your memory, earlier I said that the red bean seed was bought from a shop and it probably is a few months old yet when planted it can grow into a plant.<\/p>\n
Our Guru has said that what we are today, he once was like us and what he is today, one day we shall be like him.<\/p>\n
Masters are the embodiment of truth, so do not treat that statement lightly. Continue to do what you have been told. Ask if you have doubt. Discuss if you have to. <\/p>\n
Forever remember to wear Humility as your crown and take humbleness and wear it as your shoes.<\/p>\n
